A Little About My Decision to Become a Divorce Coach

I grew up in a family where marriage was lifelong—my parents celebrated 50 years together, and my grandparents did, too. Divorce wasn’t something I saw or expected for myself. Yet, in 2014, after nearly 20 years of marriage, my world was changing, and I found myself facing the unexpected.

Before this, in 2012, my life was deeply intertwined with helping others build strong relationships. For years, I supported premarital and marriage counseling at my church and even assisted with marriage seminars and retreats. Ironically, I soon found myself on the other side of that support, sitting in marriage counseling, wrestling with feelings of bitterness, anger, guilt, and resentment. Working through those emotions was challenging, but ultimately, it brought me to a place of peace.

Today, I’m grateful to have a positive relationship with my children’s father. I prefer to call him “my kids’ dad” because the term “ex” feels too negative. Our journey has led us to a friendship that’s rooted in respect and understanding.

In 2016, I began a journey to better understand mindset and perspective, and this shift truly changed my life. I was able to let go, embrace growth, and start looking toward the future with hope.

With prayer and advice from those I trust, I launched Kimberley Brown Divorce Coach & Support to help others navigate the challenges of divorce. I want to meet a need, fill a gap, and ensure no one feels alone during one of life’s hardest transitions.

The meaning behind the ladybug in my logo...

Ladybugs have always been a personal symbol for me, appearing at pivotal moments in my life. When I was contemplating the launch of this business, I had an honest conversation with a friend about what was holding me back. As I got into my car afterward, a ladybug landed nearby—not just once, but twice. It flew away, then returned, as if to reassure me that I was on the right path.

In many cultures, ladybugs symbolize new beginnings, good fortune, and positivity. Whether or not you believe in signs, I hope the ladybug in my logo resonates with you. As we work together, my wish is that you find your own moments of peace, clarity, direction, and assurance.
